A website on the Google Sites platform: the perfect solution for a young business

For a business that is just starting its journey, or for entrepreneurs who are not ready to invest large amounts of money in developing a professional website at this stage, there is a great opportunity to create a website on the Google Sites platform, and it will be a very cool investment!

After all, the realities of our lives are as follows:

Usually, at the beginning of his journey, an entrepreneur simply wants to do either his favorite thing or a thing that he considers profitable by opening a business that is unlikely to be related to IT. This can be a shoe store, clothing store, fast food, pizzeria, hairdressers, small cafes and restaurants. All these businesses, which can be counted more than 100 types, interacting with customers, certainly want to create a point on Google Maps. At the same time, the Google Maps algorithm is based on information about the business on the network and in particular on the company’s website. From where it takes both the services provided by the business and the key queries for which this point can appear to a potential client.

But in 70% of cases, an entrepreneur stops at creating pages on social networks (because it’s easy) and inserts them instead of a website on Google, which not only violates the rules for publishing companies on Google, but also does not promote the point on Google Maps in any way. After all, a page on Facebook does not belong to a business, and Google does not scan the content published there, such a page only contains basic information about the company (Address, name, phone number), and some social networks such as Instagram do not transmit this to Google either.

Factors influencing Google’s algorithm:

There are many factors that influence the algorithm responsible for promoting a Company Profile on Google. These include the settings of the profile itself (categories, name, phone, address, reviews and photo and/or video publications), as well as the presence of information about the company on the network. But the website is of critical importance since 2021.

User safety: The site must be on its own domain. After all, you register a domain for a person or company and This is already the first step to confirming to the algorithms that the business is legitimate, can be trusted, and in the case of potential fraudulent actions, at least there is a responsible person.
Site quality: Quality of development, adaptability to different devices, loading speed
Content quality (how often the content is published and updated, is it unique),
Integration into the Google search ecosystem: Connection to Search Console, Google Analytics, Tag Manager. Interaction with algorithms must be configured: if the site simply exists, it is not a fact that the algorithms will see the information posted on it in sufficient volume. After all, the algorithm requires scanning the data on the site. Advanced platforms developed by programmers have a special system of interaction with algorithms through the search console, site maps and outbound links.

It is very difficult for a simple entrepreneur to figure this out on their own.

That is why the option with the Google Sites platform is very acceptable. These sites are as easy to edit as possible: just go to the document, go to the desired page and use the visual editor to change the text or graphic information.

In addition, since this is a Google development platform, it is already integrated into the system of interaction with algorithms. Connecting to the search console and analytics takes only 15-20 minutes.

However, entrepreneurs usually do not have the time and necessary knowledge to make a site on the Google Sites platform effective, which would satisfy their wishes and have maximum promotion potential.

That is why our team regularly offers to create a site on this platform for businesses that contact us. This is a simple tool, and we have experience. I can say with confidence that the sites we made last year have almost 100% of the efficiency of the Google Sites service.

Yes, Google Sites has its drawbacks:

Very limited choice of designs (fonts and composition of elements)
Inability to create a “dream site” due to standard blocks, indents and elements
Difficulty in making individual edits
When it comes to the product catalog, this platform is also not very convenient. If there are no more than 100 products, they can be managed quite well, although slower than on specialized sales platforms.

Among the advantages of the Google Sites platform, it is worth noting:

Mobile-friendly
Fast loading speed on any device
Image optimization
No need to buy hosting
Simple editing system
Save to Google Drive
Available editing from any device
Instant changes
Integrated into the Google ecosystem
