Google Maps recently added the ability to manually add parking reminders. The next innovation in the mapping service will be the ability to track the movements of friends and family in real time. By the way, this is not the first attempt by Google to implement this feature. Initially, the ability to track loved ones was available in the Latitude service, which the company closed in 2013, and then this feature appeared in Google+. Now it is known that the option has been added to the Google Maps service.
With this new feature, you can share your location with your friends, so they can always know where you are. This innovation could also be useful for parents who are worried about their children and want to know their movements in the city. You can enable the exchange of data for an indefinite period of time or for a specific period of time.
How to do it?:
- Open Maps and click on your profile icon in the top right corner of the screen
- In the next menu, select “Transfer Geodata”
- Click on the “Share Location” button
- Select the period of time (period) that this feature will be active for you and the person you are granting access to, from 15 minutes to a day, or select the option “until I deactivate it”
- Select the person from your contact list to whom you want to send access to your location, you can send it via SMS or Messenger
