Reasons why you don’t receive a letter from Google

Let’s try to figure out the reasons why the letter with the code from Google does not come to your address:

  1. You entered information about your company in the Google My Business system incorrectly or with violations. In this case, very often you cannot receive a confirmation letter (confirming that the letter with the code was sent to your physical address) to the e-mail of your account under which you registered the point. Why does this happen:

a. The name of your company in the Google My Business service contains unnecessary words, for example, you have a cafe “Veronika”, then the correct name should be: “Veronika”, and not “Cafe Veronica”, “Veronika, cafe, cakes, coffee, banquets” and so on. This is considered spam and the system does not miss unnecessary words, and later you may get a ban, after which recovery can take up to six months, since requests to unblock a Google My Business account are considered manually.

b. The name of the object should not contain special characters, for example: “/ * – + ‘« »” etc.

c. The code came, but it does not fit. Why? Probably after requesting the code you changed something in the Google My Business system, in this case you need to order a new code.

d. You specified the wrong address. Sometimes our users are inattentive.

e. Index. As it is not unreasonable to state, but many do not know their exact index. For example, in our city: Everyone in the city sends letters with the index 32300, although there are only 32301 … 32315 in the city, our post office knows about it and delivers the letters, but in Kyiv, the letter is simply thrown into a long box, and no one knows when you will receive it.

f. During registration, insufficient data was indicated, for example, there was no phone number or website where the address was indicated

You added uninformative photos about your business. You should remember that Google Maps is, first and foremost, about maps. Your task: using photos and videos to answer questions about your business: “Where are you located?”, “What do you look like?”, “Your hours,” “Contact information.”

  1. In general, it’s better to read all of Google’s posting rules before filling them out.

 3. Mail service is down or you are hard to find.

  1. Most likely, you cannot influence the work of postal services: they are not very interested in simple letters, they guarantee delivery only by registered mail. But you can always go to the post office or ask your local postman. We have had cases when the postman could not find a place and simply kept the letters with him. Try to do this politely and tactfully, postal workers are extremely vulnerable creatures who work for a meager salary. Most often, the reason is a mess at the sorting points, where they work not with their hands, but with graders …. Moreover, such a system is not only in the CIS countries, but also in Europe. WHAT TO DO? If you have time to wait, you can order a letter again, but in no case can you change anything in the Google My Business system, this will ruin the confirmation code. If you have not received the letter within 14 days, you can request a manual confirmation: Here is a link. If the issue cannot be delayed, you can contact a trusted Google verifier.
